Contact your congressional representative and urge them to bring to the House floor, and vote YES on the Russia and Iran Sanctions Bill S.722

July 19, 2017

WHAT: The Joint Baltic American National Committee, Inc. (JBANC) urges individuals and organizations concerned with Russia’s destabilizing and aggressive actions abroad to contact their congressional representatives. Urge your representative to advocate for a quick and resounding vote on the bill, S.722 “Countering Iran’s Destabilizing Activities Act of 2017," which includes sanctions against Russia also.

WHEN: Contact your congressional representative offices NOW! With a possible vote looming in the House of Representatives in the very near future, it is imperative that your representative hears your voice now.

WHY:  Russian aggression around the world has been steadily escalating for years now and has included its assault on the Syrian people, its annexation of Crimea and occupation of eastern Ukraine, thwarting democracy in the Western Balkans, its military aggression against Georgia and occupation of Georgian territories, and its interference in elections in the United States and France through cyber-attacks. Kremlin disinformation campaigns are being waged daily against Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, and a massive military drill on the borders of the Baltics and other neighborhood countries will soon be happening. By passing this bill, Congress will send a clear message to Russia, that the Putin regime must cease its hostilities. The United States will not stand for such acts of aggression.

HOW:

1. Call or email your congressional representative TODAY and ask them to support S.722, “Countering Iran’s Destabilizing Activities Act of 2017.” You can visit your member’s website for their contact information.

2. If you do not know your representative, go online to www.house.gov/representatives/find and enter your zip code to find your representative. If there is an overlap in representatives for your zip code, you will be prompted to enter your full address to identify which representative is yours.
