The Joint Baltic American National Committee's conference continued Saturday afternoon with a luncheon keynote speech by Ambassador Michael Kozak, Special Advisor on Human Rights to the U.S. Department of State. Ambassador Kozak discussed human rights throughout Central and Eastern Europe in his speech, focusing closely on his time as former Ambassador to Belarus. Luncheon attendees also heard from American Latvian Association President Juris Mezinskis, who introduced Ambassador Kozak, and Lithuanian Parliamentarian Emanuelis Zingeris, who presented JBANC President Saulius Kuprys and Edward Lucas (The Economist) with awards.
